28 Jan 2017: HU School of Fashion & Textile Design held an Honor Roll Ceremony to celebrate the academic excellence of the outgoing students of Fashion & Textile Design.
Mr. Hassan Iqbal, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Textile Industry, Government of Pakistan graciously consented to be the Chief Guest at the occasion.He admired the student’s work during the exhibition and expressed how impressed he was to see such talent and creativity shown by HU Students. During his speech, he focused on how the studentsmay harness the potential of Pakistan’s Textile Industry and the value added Fashion industry. He encouraged students to follow the entrepreneurial dream after gaining sufficient industry experience, as Pakistan needs their talents and hard work.
Mr. Umer Sheikh, Director Office of Planning & Development, speaking at the occasion shared the key developments making Hajvery University an eminent seat of learning in Fashion & Textile Design, including evolving the courses to reflect the latest international industry trends, providing the best professors, visiting lecturers and best artists who teach in cosmopolitan studios and classrooms, and providing study abroad scholarships to Turkish & European Universities.
The Ceremony featured distribution of Awards and Certificates to students and faculty members. Ms. Nadia Niazi, received a shield for the Best Faculty Member, Fashion & Textile Design Department by the Chief Guest whereas the following students received distinctions.

• Academic Distinction, Textile Design, Hameed Ullah Khan
• Best Thesis Display Textile Design, Nazneen Ehsan

Mr. Atif Mushtaq, Chairman, Board of Governors presented a Shield and a Souvenir to the Chief Guest, Mr. Hassan Iqbal as a token of appreciation for encouraging the academia, and reassured the University’s commitment to incorporating the advancements of this dynamic age into the classrooms at Hajvery University.
