In Pakistan, spring celebrations are locally known as Jashn-e-Baharan. People from all over the country celebrate the arrival of spring in the most festive way. When it comes to spring celebrations and festivals, Pakistani celebrations have a league of their own. Spring is celebrated with gardens full of multi-color flowers, dancing people, music, stalls with cultural representations.
Mr. Atif Mushtaq, Chairman Board of Governors of the Hajvery University Lahore inaugurated a two day spring festival from 7th to 8th April 2015. The festival was organized by the Hajvery University student clubs and faculty member. Hajvery University celebrates spring festival every year so preparation was started two weeks earlier. The best of the fun, entertainment, food and various festivities allowed the crowd of enthusiastic students to immerse themselves in the local culture and celebrate the ethnic identities from all corners of Pakistan, such as Sindhi, Baluchi, Punjabi cultures.
Students of Fashion Designing wore their dress according to spring. Singing, dancing, ramp walk, skits performance and different stalls which were part of spring festival increased student’s excitement. A group of students performed a skit titled Mughal-e- Azam, which was very entertaining. The students who performed different cultural dances thrilled the audience and receive a lot of appreciation. Further, students also setup different stalls of food, jewellery and face painting. Students of the University fully participated in all the events of festival.
Mr. Atif Mushtaq, Chariman Board of Governors went to every stall and saw the items prepared by the students. He appreciated the efforts of students and hoped that students of Hajvery University will play their positive role in participating in national progress and prosperity. He commended the students for their enthusiastic participation in the festival and winners of each segment were presented with shields. The festival took place in the HU Euro Campus Lahore and covered by different TV Channels.
