Job Fair Job Fairs on the platform of HU allow our students to Interact and experience firsthand numerous prospective employers. It acts as a wonderful opportunity of professional networking for both current students and out alumni. The purpose of the event is to allow recruiters and prospective applicants to interact , a seminar on HRM is generally followed so as to explain students the HR policies of the recruiters.
Workshops on interview skills HU Workshops prepare you for everything related to the do and don’ts of CV writing, Interviewing skills, which include the interaction, dressing, becoming more confident, and learning to capitalize on your strengths. This plays a pivotal role in your grooming, when you start seeking jobs you not only represent yourself but also HU, therefore we do our best to prepare you.
Mock interviews The Mock Interview Program provides you with the opportunity to practice your interview skills with actual interviewers. The interviewers are generally McGill alumni and/or members of the Canadian Bar Association who volunteer their time to help students improve their interview skills. Interviewers are often, but not exclusively, representatives of firms that recruit on campus. In order to make the interviews as realistic as possible, they are usually held at the interviewer's office. This allows you the opportunity to deal with the stress that many experience when going to formal interviews. In other cases, mock interviews are held at the Faculty. Each Mock Interview lasts about 30 minutes, with 15-20 minutes for the interview itself and 10-15 minutes for constructive feedback from the interviewer. The Career Development Office coordinates the Mock Interview Programs, which are usually held in November and February.
Corporate interaction At HU students get to interact with the industry, throughout their programs. Engineering, Pharmacy and Business Students visit firms, interact with HR managers and see the work flow of the Big companies first hand. Whereas Fashion and Textile students regularly showcase their work in exhibitions held at HU and attend seminars by leading designers.
Personality Enhancement At HU we conduct Personality of the Week series, in which every week we invite a successful personality, may it be and entrepreneur, a high ranking executive, TV anchors, or any other walk of life. Our students get a chance to interact with them and learn more their success stories to find the inspiration of their own lives.
