Educational Tour to PEL by HU Engineering Students
February 9, 2011 – Hajvery University (HU) arranged an Educational Visit for Students of Engineering to PEL – Pak Elecktron Ltd. PEL (est in 1956) is the pioneer manufacturer of electrical goods in Pakistan .It is a technology forerunner and market leader in providing new products to meet ever changing, technology intensive needs of customers.
The purpose of this visit was to provide the Engineering Students of HU with practical exposure. PEL is the manufacturer of Air Conditioners, Refrigerators, Deep Freezers, all three divisions were initially started in collaboration with companies in Japan and Italy. Furthermore, PEL also has Power division, the exposure to an organization of this magnitude proved to be a great learning opportunity for the Students. It was also an a good change at professional networking with their management, and engineers.
During the visit Mr. Zeeshan Shaukat, Administrative Assistant PEL told the students about Company history; he told them how PEL had technical collaboration with AEG of Germany in 1956. Later in October 1978, the company was taken over by Saigol Group of Companies.
The students also had a company tour in which they observed the two divisions of PEL:
• Appliances Division
• Power Division
It was an informative tour for the students as it helped them to add another dimension of learning to their education. Hajvery Univesity (HU) extends gratitude to the management of PEL for the making such Educational Tours for Students possible.
