Academicians and heads of Academic institutions from over 62 countries, over 65 established Universities across European Union, China, and South and East Asia came together for the 3-Day EMC International Summit hosted by European Commission at IMT Ghaziabad, India.

Hajvery University (HU) Lahore is one of the signatories of the EMECW consortium of universities. This gives an impetus to research, faculty and student mobility activities between HU and other top Universities of Europe and Asia under the leadership of European Commission.

HU as a member of this consortium participated in the summit, represented by the Chairman Board of Governors Mr. Atif Mushtaq.

“HU is among the first top inter-disciplinary universities of Pakistan to become a partner university under this program. This highlights Hajvery University’s commitment to excellence in education by providing a platform for its students, faculty and staff members to access world class international education and research facilities, free of cost.” Mr. Atif Mushtaq

30 June, 2011. Syeda Wajiha Hassan is currently pursuing BBA (Hons) at Hajvery University (HU). She was awarded a scholarship to Study Abroad for 1 semester at Sabanci University, Istanbul, Turkey. The scholarship included Return AirTicket, Comprehensive Insurance, and 5000 Euros Stipend Money for daily expenses among other things. The following essay is written by her, which presents a glimpse of her Experience of Studying and Living Abroad in Europe.

Orientation Seminar

HU Office of Foreign Affairs arranged a pre-departure seminar to prepare the students selected under the Comprehensive scholarship to study abroad free of cost, in partner universities of HU in Germany, Netherlands, Turkey, Lichtenstein and others. International travel and being an exchange student can be a daunting experience, especially for the first time.

Istanbul Technical U

Themes of joint activities under the MoU include Exchange programs for Undergrad and Grad students, Exchange of Faculty and Research Scholars, Joint Conferences and Research activities, and several other areas to broaden the capacity of Co-operation between the two esteemed Institutions.

HU Debating Competit

HU organized Debating Competition 2010 in two languages, English and Urdu, on October 21, 2010. After much anticipation, excitement and preparation Thirty students from all 6 Faculties, brought their scripts to life

International School

International school of Choueifat, Lahore organized a Career Fair on Nov 13, 2010. The Fair brought together several reputable, local and international universities, and thus allowed the students of various schools to interact with University Representatives from Pakistan, UK, USA & Australia.

A workshop on Intelligent Utilization of Digital Library Resources was conducted by Ms. Syeda Tamkanat, DLO Officer, HEC on Nov 4, 2010. The one day workshop aimed at educating Students and Faculty members about the wealth of resources available in Digital Library, and how to filter through to find the appropriate research papers, journals ect to suit their research needs.

I was selected by Hajvery University (HU) for a fully funded, 1 month Academic Staff Exchange opportunity at University of Flensburg, Germany (Partner University of HU) in the summer of 2010. Teaching and interacting with the Students, PhD Scholars and Professors from Germany was a great experience.

Hajvery University (HU), Lahore, Pakistan inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Özyeğin University, Istanbul, Turkey . OzU is among the best universities of Turkey, and it’s centrally located in Istanbul, Turkey. This MoU further expands the International Relations of HU with reputable universities in the world. Students and Faculty members of HU can greatly benefit from the opportunities available under this MoU.

HU Business School (HUBS) arranged an Educational Tour for its MBA students to Lahore Stock Exchange, so students can learn about the Activities of Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE), and the role of stock exchanges in businesses and economies.

On December 10, 2010, HU BBA(Hons) students had an Educational Tour at Shezan International Ltd. Purpose of the visit was to provide students with an opportunity to have firsthand experience of Pakistan’s Largest Food Processing Unit; meet its management, and develop a know-how of the production line up, and business operations of Shezan International.

Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited is a joint venture between Honda Motor Company Limited Japan, and the Atlas Group of Companies, Pakistan. 3 march,2012. Hajvery University students and management organized spring festival 2012 to celebrate the onset spring in style. The students were dressed in tasteful traditional dresses of Pakistan, reflecting the fashion of different provinces: Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KPK. It was a delight for the eyes to see all these young people promoting the culture of Pakistan. The best dressed male and female students were declared spring king and spring queen.

My name is Charles Haroon Gill and I am currently doing MBA (E-7) at Hajvery University and I was provided a platform in form of AIESEC by Hajvery University (HU) to do internship at, Denizli, Turkey for 8 weeks. AIESEC is an international student-based organization that provides students with an opportunity to do internships all over the world. I got opportunity to do my internship at Denizli, which is situated in the south-western part of Turkey .It is a growing industrial city. Majority of the population in Turkey is Muslim, so there are some similarities between our culture and the Turkish culture, but there are significant differences in terms of food, dress, language and general socialization activities.

March 14, 2012. Bachelors & Masters students of Textile Design showcased their final thesis projects in an exhibition held at HU Main Campus. The exhibition featured a catwalk by models wearing designs made by final year HU Students of Textile Design. The exhibition attracted a lot of fashion conscious people and students from across faculties, who really admired the awe-inspiring work on display.

Mr. Muhammad Asif, Director American Information Resource Center (AIRC), US Consulate General Lahore, delivered a workshop on harnessing the potential of e-Library USA at Hajvery University (HU). Students from across all faculties; Pharmacy, Business, Fashion, Media Studies, Engineering, Humanities, and others including researchers and teaching faculty attended the workshop. The objective of this workshop was to introduce e-library USA which gives access to 20 authoritative databases, which include several thousand books, magazines, journals, research papers, citations, documentaries, and a lot more.

On April 02, 2012, A Jam session/Live concert of US musical rock band “Blood Moon Therapy” was held at Hajvery University in collaboration with US Consulate. The band consisted on Michael Lombardi, who is a musical/actor and has worked in a lot of TV serials, Nick who is a guitarist from New York, Shawn Dailey from California who plays the base guitar, Neil Parekh from Los Angles, who is guitarist/Keyboardist and Chris Vargas, who plays drum and is also from California.

24 April, 2012 – HU organized an Educational Tour of Tripple Em for students of Commerce to enhance their exposure and understanding of the organization, its production mechanisms, human resource management, marketing, and strategy of one of the oldest companies of Pakistan. HU Students were given the opportunity to gain practical knowledge of how Tripple-Em operates in fierce competition and do professional networking with the Management and HR department at the same time.

Celebrating Success

Current students of Hajvery University (HU) volunteered for the organising committee of TEDxHUP and played their parts very effectively in making this event a mega success. In appreciation for their efforts, Certificates of Recognition were distributed amongst them. Curator of TEDxHUP wished the students best of luck, in his concluding remarks, and encouraged the students to engage more in such healthy activities.

Educational Tour of

HU organized an Educational Tour of Bunny’s Ltd for students of Business Administration. 30 students of Hajvery University (HU) along with a faculty member, Prof. Gauhar Siddique, visited Bunny’s Ltd at Kot lakhpat, Lahore. Bunny’s Ltd, est in 1984, is a market leader in packaged snacks and baked breads.
